We require a dynamic Consultant Radiologist - Uro-Radiology and Cross Sectional Imaging to join our Radiology team within East Sussex Healthcare NHS trust that consists of 17 Consultant Radiologists with various specialist interests.

The appointee will be based at Eastbourne DGH or Conquest Hospital Hastings.

First line on call is provided by trainee or staff grade radiologists till 10pm and an outsource company overnight from 10pm. Out of hours interventional radiology emergency procedures and second line diagnostic on call is provided by a 1:6 interventional rota covered by the department interventional radiologists. The on-call CT work is then checked the following day for quality assurance and education on a 1 in 8 rota spread over weekdays and weekends with internal cover for colleagues’ leave/absences. Malignant cord compression MRI is covered by the weekend checking/reporting diagnostic radiologist as part of the 1 in 8 rota. Dedicated laptops are provided at Radiologists’ homes to link to the PACS system for this service.

East Sussex Healthcare Trust has a high quality stock of imaging Equipment including a 320 slice CT (Toshiba Aquilion One), GE HD750 128 slice CT, 2x MRI Siemens Avanto 1.5T, Siemens Artis Interventional Suite, Siemens Symbiat 16 SPECT-CT and an ongoing rolling equipment replacement and expansion programme including installation of 2 x GE Revolution CT scanners at EDGH.

The Radiology Departments are actively involved in teaching other specialities and have four radiology trainees on rotation from KSS deanery.

Audit and other continuing professional developmental activities are positively encouraged.

Applicants must have full GMC registration, be on the Specialist Register or be within six months of gaining CCT.
