Due to expansion of our services one vacancy has arisen within our friendly, progressive and innovative cardiac department, which supports nine Consultant Cardiologists. There are two sites, one at Eastbourne District General and one at the Conquest Hastings. The successful candidate would be based mainly at one site. Both Hastings and Eastbourne are delightful seaside resorts with renowned sunshine record and excellent recreational facilities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated physiologist who is keen for further development within the unit. The unit has a well established invasive and non invasive service covering a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.

This post offers the opportunity to work in many advanced fields including; Cardiac angiography, cardiac intervention, device implants and follow-ups, electrophysiology including 3D mapping and echocardiography including TOE, stress echo and dyssynchrony. All these areas are advancing and developing rapidly with new technology and the department has involvement in research in all our clinical areas. You will also be involved in a very wide range of Cardiac diagnostic investigations including ECG, 24 Hour Holter and BP Monitoring, Exercise ECG (physiologist led).

It is expected that you will possess initiative and drive to complement the responsibility of your role. We are looking for a physiologist who will relish the challenge of being part of the team of this modern unit, expanding their existing knowledge and experience.

You will be included in the on-call team for the Cardiac Catheter lab and will take part in training and development of junior staff as our department is dedicated to training new and established staff. Cardiology at ESHT has strong links with the University of Brighton & has a well established research department.

Training plans will be provided should you not have experience in some of the areas. The department encourages continual professional development, BSE, IBHRE/HRUK accreditation & postgraduate education.

You will have BSC Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
BSE and/or HRUK/IBHRE is desirable only. RCCP registration would be of an advantage.

We would consider BSc Healthcare science (Cardiovascular, PTP) graduates for this post as an Annex U of the above salary for the period of training.
