ESHT is committed to offering new employees an apprenticeship programme of study to support their role. Please ask when you apply/at interview if you are keen to undertake a programme and we can check if there is a suitable one available to match your role (the opportunities available are changing all the time, there may not be something for you at the time of your appointment but a programme may be written over the coming months which suits you). Apprenticeships are available at level 2 (GCSE equivalent) right up to Degree or Masters level so don’t forget to check with us.
Are you a registered Overseas Nurse looking for OSCE support to complete your NMC registration?
We are looking for overseas nurses who have achieved the English requirement recognised by the NMC and have successfully completed Part 1 of the NMC Test of Competence CBT to join our International Nurse Programme.
What we can offer you.
If successful at interview you will receive a contract as a Pre-registered Nurse (band 3) on either a medical or surgical ward at either Eastbourne DGH or the Conquest Hospital. As well as being able to improve and consolidate your skills on the ward, you will receive dedicated training sessions from our Clinical Education team to prepare you for your objective structured clinical examination (OSCE).
With a 93% OSCE pass rate, we are fully equipped to support you through this examination. On successful registration with the NMC you will receive a permanent Band 5 Staff Nurse contract.
How we support you
In addition to the training programme we will also fund 2 OSCE attempts and travel expenses (up to £75) to the OSCE test centre. You will be responsible for any additional costs, i.e. overnight accommodation in Northampton.
We can also provide Tier 2 sponsorship for eligible candidates and may be able to provide support for accommodation for any candidates relocating to the area.
Is this for you?
Applicants must hold a nursing qualification and live registration overseas and have a least one year’s experience in the country where the qualification was obtained. We are only able to accept candidates who have either passed their IELTs to level 7 in all disciplines or passed the OET to a Grade B in all disciplines in the last 24 months, or are English test exempt.
Applicants must also have successfully completed Part 1 of the NMC Test of Competence CBT, and have either received a decision letter from the NMC, or have submitted the required documentation to the NMC. If you have your CBT booked but have not yet taken the test, please contact us as we may be able to consider your application for future opportunities.

Our expectation of you is that you
