Specialty Doctor - General Surgery
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the General Surgery team based at the Conquest Hospital. You will also be required to work on occasions at the Eastbourne District General Hospital. The postholder will be responsible for the care of inpatients and day patients under the direction of the Consultant Surgeons and will also be actively involved in various clinics. There is a dedicated Surgical Assessment Unit and Day Surgery Unit on site at the Conquest Hospital. You will be an integral part of the middle grade rota and be part of the EWTD compliant Hospital at Night team where you will be supported by an FY1 and/or CT1.
Previous experience in both Elective and Emergency Surgery at middle grade (Registrar equivalent) level within the NHS is essential. This post is not recognized for training, however this Trust is committed to providing a learning environment for all staff and as such we are offering the opportunity to rotate between the sub-specialties of General Surgery.
Department visits are welcome and encouraged
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
